The Obituary • In Loving Memory
Nov. 15th, 1928 - March 15th, 2021
His family was his life and everything else came second.
Dennis Eugene Adams, 92, bid farewell to this world early Monday morning, March 15th, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He lived a life shared with countless stories, friendships, and cherished moments. He leaves behind a legacy as a dedicated husband of 72 years, a father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin, a World War 2 veteran and beloved friend to many. Born in Beresford, South Dakota on November 15th, 1928 to John and Halen Adams. Dennis eventually moved out to Anacortes, Washington with his parents at a young age where he later met his wife Lorraine while spending an afternoon at the skating rink. Little did he know, their first “hello,” would preface generations to come. Dennis and Lorraine were married July 14th, 1948 and soon became proud parents to Larry Adams (wife Mel) and Cindy Haines (husband Bryan). Dennis took on the role of “Grandpa," with Cindy’s three sons; Dustin (wife Keri), Jared (wife Jen) and Skyler (husband Jonathan) followed by “Great-Grandpa,” to Andrew, Joelle, Espn and Breckland Haines. Nothing made him more happy than the memories he built with his family. Dennis served his country in the US Navy during World War 2 and through his perseverance shared his life lessons, strength, and dedicated spirit to anyone he met and in everything he did. With a love for baseball, he was a coach in his early years and passionately rooted for the Seattle Mariners. A handyman at heart, he took pride in his home. A provider, he ensured his wife and family were always well cared for and he retired as a Foreman in 1990. He will forever be remembered as the patriarch of our family, a hero to our country, a role model to many, and for a life well lived. Rest in Peace. |
